As of January, 2024, we’ve given over $6500 to support conservation and scholarship opportunities for underserved communities.
When I was 18, the Anne Kent Taylor Fund allowed me to join them in the Maasai Mara, Kenya, to see first hand their anti-poaching and community based conservation efforts. I was welcomed warmly into the community by Anne Taylor and especially into the home of Joseph and Regina where Regina taught me the traditional responsibilities of a Maasai woman. I used my basic knowledge of Swahili to teach a few art classes in local primary schools. My time with them shaped the fabric of who I am today, and I will never forget their kind spirits and generosity. I believe firmly in the fund’s mission to support projects that maintain the delicate balance between conservation and community development within the Maasai Mara ecosystem. I made a commitment to support their work when I created NOMADICA, and I am thankful to my clients who’ve made it possible.

Symbolism in the Nomadica Logo
The ncheli, the symbol in the center of the “O” is worn by Samburu women in Kenya on their foreheads. I spent time in my teenage years thanks to the help of my mother, selling goods in the US made by Samburu women. We sent all of the money back to the women to help with community projects like tapping a well, building a permanent crafts center, and helping with food and medical bills through a drought.
